For sale is a very nice Rhodes Chroma, just serviced in October 2024 by Synthchaser with power supply recapped, power resistors upgraded, new batteries, and factory presets loaded. This package includes the dual pedal, an additional original footswitch, and an anvil case that will need new foam.
The synthesizer is in great physical and functional condition. This is probably the only Rhodes Chroma I’ve encountered that had no damage from batteries that leaked. The only thing worth noting is that while all voice cards pass tuning at start up, card 0 will fail if tuned a second time. The card works and sounds fine, and when tested in another Chroma it always passes tuning. So should you want to re-tune the Chroma after the initial power-on, just re-tune with “SET SPLIT-31”.
Prospective buyers are welcome to come try it out before purchasing. Local pickup is welcome and encouraged. If being shipped, the instrument will ship in the road case (with some extra packing materials) and be insured for the full purchase price, but this is a vintage electronic item, so all sales are as-is and final. But visit the Synthchaser YouTube channel and rest assured that high quality detailed work was done to this synthesizer by an expert.
