Description
The ARP 2600 uses 40 ohm speakers which are much harder to find than the common 8 or 4 ohm speakers used today. And unfortunately the voice coils in the original ARP 2600 speakers tend to break over time. Until now the solution was to risk sending your original speakers to an overpriced, unreliable, and slow re-coning service in an attempt to repair them and then hope you get them back. Now for a fraction of the cost of reconing the original speakers, you can more conveniently and quickly replace them with new ones!
Your purchase includes 2 of the pictured 40 ohm speakers. These speaker retrofits have the same impedance and frequency response as the originals, however are a different shape (round vs oval) and have a different mounting screw footprint than the originals. So you will need to fabricate an adapter to mount this to the case of the 2600 (we do not recommend drilling new holes into the panel of your 2600). Again, this physically is not a drop-in replacement.
