Description
The Synthchaser Precision Slider Kit will breathe new life into your ARP Odyssey synthesizer keyboard. This pre-assembled kit replaces all 34 of your old sliders with new, smooth, high precision sliders. The difference in the way these sliders feel and perform compared to the originals is a huge improvement. The values and taper types of the faders are the same as the originals. Sliders are on just a few assemblies, so it is easy to ensure that all of the sliders are parallel. Plus, the assemblies come pre-assembled, saving massive amounts of time and headache over fiddly DIY options.
The slider shafts fit the soft Mk I & Mk II style slider caps (some may require some non-permanent adhesive to help stay on the shaft), but do not fit the Mk III hard plastic caps. For Mk III Odysseys, I recommend the Synthchaser Precision LED slider kit, with our corresponding slider caps. When not connected to power, the look of that is close to original. While you’re working on your Odyssey, also consider our recap/IC kit or a new set of key bushings, all available from our store. There is a difference in the slider tapers used for the Pulse Width Modulation on revisions of Board B. We will ship with 100K Linear PWM sliders (as used in board B-I) unless you include a note requesting 100K Audio sliders (as used in Board B-II) in the notes of your order at the time you place your order. This cannot be changed once your order is placed. Please check which version of board B is in your Odyssey before ordering–do not assume anything based on the model of your synthesizer. Your synthesizer will still work if you choose the wrong PWM slider taper, so don’t freak out about it. Installation of this kit requires disassembly of your keyboard and soldering.
