Description
The Oberheim OB-SX was a preset polysynth made in between the legendary OB-X and the mighty OB-Xa. Third party add-ons (not included) add MIDI and allow control over the parameters not accessible on the OB-SX’s front panel, making it nearly functionally equivalent to one of the larger flagship synthesizers at a fraction of the cost. This is a 56 preset OB-SX with the updated (better) auto-tune routine.
This 4 voice OB-SX has just been serviced in October 2024 by Synthchaser with power supply recapped, bridge rectifiers upgraded, voice card capacitors replaced, calibration, pots cleaned, new key bushings, some Molex contacts replaced, and more. The synthesizer is in very nice physical condition with the exception of some scratches on the lid, including the number of an air force band, and some dents on the heat sink on the back (see photos).
Prospective buyers are welcome to come try it out before purchasing. Local pickup is welcome and encouraged. If being shipped, the instrument will be packed well and insured for the full purchase price, but this is a vintage electronic item, so all sales are as-is and final. But visit the Synthchaser YouTube channel and rest assured that high quality detailed work was done to this synthesizer by an expert.
